Took a sip of coffee.

Scrolled through my IKEA campaign, feeling a million dollars.

Opened YouTube.

Saw PewDiePie’s vlog of him visiting IKEA.

2-million views in 7 days.

TWO-MILLION

SEVEN DAYS

Closed laptop, giggled, chucked coffee across room.

Realised I still want to be in advertising.

Got up. Mopped.

Made another coffee, wondering when’s the next time I’d feel my work is pointless.

Took a sip of coffee.

There's a phenomenon known as:

Nobody knows you if you're a retired NBA player unless you are Jordan or Kobe.

Then there's Jeff Teague.

Understated through his career, started a podcast after retirement, telling all kinds of wild stories...

of him getting cooked, more often than not.

Someone he under-estimated dropping 40 points on him; 50 points on him; hitting a wicked lay-up on him; team-bus leaving without him.

And people began to notice:

People liked the authenticity:

And eventually they remembered: Teague was, jokes aside, a pretty decent baller.

Teague is breaking the winner-exclusive NBA story-telling landscape one goofy tale at a time. Let that be a case study.
